PhysicochemicalProperties: White monoclinic crystalline or amorphous powder. Itschemical compositions generally is expressed in x MgCO₃· y Mg(OH) ₂· z H₂O,of which the proportions of x, y and z have several different kinds andcan be 4:1:4, 4:1:5, 4:1:6, 4:1:7, 3:1:3 and 3:1:4. And nontoxic,odorless, stable in the air. Relative density is 2.16. Slightly solublein water, and its aqueous solution shows weak alkaline reaction. Itssolubility in water is 0.02% (15). Easily soluble in acid and ammoniumsalt solution, it shall resolve and send out carbon dioxide whilemeeting with diluted acid. Heated to 300 and above, it shall resolveand produce water, carbon dioxide and magnesium oxide.
